(12 miles / 4 - 6 hours)
From Inverarnan the Way starts off just North of Bein Glass Farm up a small gravel road which eventually turns into a gravel path. The Way heads up Glen Falloch with the first notable landmark being the Falls of Falloch. These waterfalls are filled with white water rushing past at high speed even during the summer. From the Falls of Falloch the Way continues North and East following the Glen. Both the A82 road and the West Highland railway line are squeezed into this Glen and you will find that you cross underneath these as you leave the river and start walking on the northern hillsides of the Glen. Crianlarich is reached by turning right at the end of the hillside (it is well signposted) whilst the Way continues on to Tyndrum.
From Crianlarich the Way continues where you left off at the left-right signpost. The route takes you through a large forest on a forest track that winds up and down and around for what seems like ages. There is not much to see here. Eventually you pop out of the forest and descend under a viaduct before crossing the main road (be careful) and over into a series of fields. You quickly come across Strathfillan Wigwams and camping area - however beware as if you think you have made it to Tyndrum already you are wrong! It is another 2 miles (at least) until you reach the town. Tyndrum is a small town at the intersection of a number of main roads in the area. It is served by two railway stations (Tyndrum Lower) and (Tyndrum Upper) and is where the West Highland railway line branches with one branch heading to Oban and the other to Bridge of Orchy. There are many hotels, guest houses, bars and restuarants and it is an excellent place to stop for a break or to bed down for the night.
