The start of your walking adventure begins in Milngavie - a small town on the outskirts of Glasgow that is easily reachable from Glasgow city centre via public transport. The walk starts from the main street just behind Milngavie railway station. Walking north and west you head out of Milngavie through Mugdock country park and then onwards through fields alongside Carbeth Hill. To the north west of Blanefield the Way path takes a fairly straight path along the path of a disused railway passing Glengoyne Distillary on your right and passing directly behind The Beach Tree Inn. Beyond, the Beach Tree, the Way continues north and slightly west following closely the path of the A81 road before heading further west to pass through the beautiful wee village of Gartness and then onwards to Drymen.
From Drymen the Way proceeds further north and west via trail through the Garadhban Forest before then passing round and over Conic Hill to reveal the beautiful Loch Lomond. Descending Conic Hill you arrive into Balmaha on the south eastern shores of the Loch.
